Featured Brews

Hollywood
Blonde Ale - The Great Beer Company
|
|
The founders are an unusual
bunch, all members of the Maltose Falcons, the oldest homebrew club
in the US: The CEO is a television producer, the award winning brewmaster
is a biochemist, an asst. professor at UCLA, and a woman, and the
assoc. brewmaster is president of a computer company. What they
have in common is a love of great beer and a dedication to excellence.
When deciding on a name, they assumed - rightfully so - that if
asked to
|
choose between a so-so suds
and a great beer, most people would choose the great beer. and so
The Great Beer Co. was born.
Hollywood Blonde is
a Kölsch style ale, top fermented warm and then lagered (cold aged)
to give it a unique taste and clean, smooth finish. Kölsch is the
specialty brewing style of the city of Cologn, Germany.

Red
Feather Premium Ale - Palm Springs Brewing Co.
|
|
In 1994 the Palm Springs Brewing
Co. was created as a brewpub in downtown Palm Springs to cater to
local residents and the huge tourist industry of the area. Two years
later, the demand for their beer was so great that they built an
11,000 sf brewery complete with twelve 50bbl fermentation tanks.
The brewery is managed and operated under the watchful eye of Eric
Neiderman, who has over 10 years of brewing experience and was trained
by an award
|
winning brewer from the Weisphan
School of Brewing in Munich, Germany.
Red Feather Ale is a
red-colored beer with a slightly sweet flavor and no sharp bitter
tones. The famous Palm Springs well water which they use to brew
their beer adds to Red Feather Ale's excellent balance and full
body.

|
Winter
Ale - Butte Creek Brewing Co.
|
|
Located in Chico, the Butte
Creek Brewing Co. started brewing in 1996 and produces some outstanding
brews. The 8,250 sf brewery is built in a remodeled warehouse just
off the tracks and sports a 20 barrel brew house complimented by
four 40bbl fermenters and an 80bbl fermenter. The three "main guys"
at the brewery are Tom Atmore, Bill Beeghly and brewmaster Roland
Allen. Roland has over nine years under his belt as a commercial
brewer
|
and over 13 years as a serious
homebrewer.
This month BEER On The Wall
is featuring one of Butte Creek's "seasonal" brews that you can
drink around the fireplace on a cold night, or during half-time
of a snowball fight. Winter Ale is a robust, hearty, chestnut
brown ale that is only available during the cold winter months.
A big brown bear of an ale that will keep you warm. Only Available
November through March.
