Here’s what you can expect, in general, from ANY American Pale Ale.
Typically, American Pale Ales have a moderately strong hop smell from the dry hopping and/or the addition of American hop varieties used while brewing. A citrus aroma is usually present, this comes from the type of hops used in a Pale Ale. There is a low to moderate maltiness that nicely balances the hop influence and will sometimes offer a little bit of specialty malt character like bread, toastiness or biscuit-like aromas.
Pale Ales are most often a light golden to deep amber color with a big and fluffy white to off-white head that likes to linger. Pale Ales are quite clear unless they are dry-hopped in which case they may be just slightly hazy.
And the flavor? Fantastic! Pale Ales usually have a moderately high hop flavor with lingering citrus, very refreshing. The malt character supports the hoppiness in this beer; the balance is usually towards more bitter hops, but often the malt sweetness can be quite substantial.
Pale Ales have a medium body and carbonation is moderate to high. Over all, the finish of this style beer is clean and smooth.
Awesome! Pale Ales are refreshing and hoppy, with just enough sweet malt.
