Unibrou Trois Pistoles derives its name from a small village in Quebec. Known as 'Three Coins' in their native French, this small village heralds a legend based around their church. The legend goes that a bishop summoned a good devil who took the form of a bridled black steed. He used this devil to haul bricks to construct the new church. When someone accidentally removed the bridle from the steed, it suddenly vanished just as the last stone of the church was to be set. This stone remains missing as can be seen when visiting the church today.
