That’s right…with their typical Stone Brewing Company “In Your Face” attitude, this year’s Vertical Epic Ale includes a perfect blend of toasted and toffee malt flavors complemented by a nice banana and clove spiciness that comes from the use of a Belgian Golden Ale yeast. Then the brew gods at Stone throw in a big twist with the addition of Cinnamon Sticks and Anaheim Chile peppers that don’t overpower the beer but do give it a subtle spicy kick on the finish.

The Vertical Epic series from Stone Brewing Company are Belgian styled brews released once each year on the one day when all the stars align perfectly. The first release was on February 2, 2002 (2-2-2) and each year the date moves to the next month…3-3-3, 4-4-4, etc. all the way until 12-12-12. Each beer in the series is brewed to be aged until 2012 and then tasted in an Epic Vertical tasting of all 11 beers!
