In creating this 14th Anniversary Ale, Stone Brewery started with 100% British White Malt, also known as Extra Pale Malt. This is the original malt IPA's were brewed with in the Burton region 100's of years ago, and had to be imported from Europe specially for Stone. Next they use all British hop varieties; East Kent Goldings, Target, and Boadicea. East Kent Goldings are also the original hop variety used in brewing British IPA's for years. Lastly, the geniuses at Stone went so far as to "Burton-ize" their water! That is to say, they added minerals to their brewing water to achieve the same balance as the water used in Burton, England for brewing.
