Rouge Brewing's Dead Guy Ale is a classic German Maibock style beer. The brewers at Rouge created this ale as a tribute to those of us wanderers who enjoy a bit of mischief and to the Mayan Day of the Dead, aka All Souls Day.
Pour Dead Guy Ale into a beer glass and enjoy the honey color brew with just a tinge of crimson. A nice creamy head forms but then, like a ghostly apparition, disappears quickly. The malted aromas are spicy and sweet, with just enough fruit lingering to make your mouth water.
The awesome Dead Guy graphic started out as just a sticker design for beer taps in tasting rooms but the image became so popular, especially among Grateful Dead fans, that Rouge decided to incorporate the skeletal mascot into the bottle label design.
Rouge’s Dead Guy Ale is a very tasty beer indeed. Dare we say it?
