North Coast Old Stock Ale 2009 Cellar Reserve is a special batch of North Coast Brewing Company’s award-winning Old Stock Ale. Named Old Stock 2009 Cellar Reserve, this brew has been aged for 18 months in oak Bourbon barrels giving this world-class beer an added layer of complexity. Brewed to be enjoyed as a completely unique offering, this caged and corked old ale is dark, nearly black, but when held to the light illuminates a full cranberry color.
With its 14% ABV, North Coast Brewing Company Old Stock Cellar Reserve 2009 is incredible; bourbon flavors leap off the palate with each sip. Dark sugars, vanilla and brown sugar all scream bourbon-barrel. The flavors are intense and concentrated with caramel and darker malts, and mild hops that mark the “old ale” aspect of this special brew. While all of these flavors are nicely interwoven with the bourbon, a thick sweetness also arises near the end. Caramel and bourbon, what a way to end each sip!
In the latest example of the cunning of his hand, Brewmaster Ruedrich has set new standards for the brewers’ art. To say that this ale is “amazing” would be an understatement. North Coast Old Stock Ale 2009 Cellar Reserve is a limited release, so don’t waste time thinking about whether you deserve this, you do!
