New Belgium created this beer without all the unnecessary stuff, like corn and rice, and the flavor goes where no American Lager has gone before. Like some of Europe’s finest Pilsners, Blue Paddle gives us fresh bitter bite, exploding flavor with intense depth, and the hop-crisp finish of glorious malt flavor.
And what about the name? Blue Paddle?
The name of this beer comes from a childhood memory of one of the New Belgium warehouse managers. This boy discovered his love-of-the-brew early in life, and was often chased by a grandma weilding a blue paddle when he was caught sipping her beer. Ouch on the backside! Don’t touch Granny’s beer … lesson learned.
