Lost Abbey created this beer out of respect and admiration of the Belgian Monastic communities who have devote over 150 years to beer making excellence. It's the simple and dedicated lives of these monks that teaches us that we can, and should, only consume only to sustain ourselves. Such restraint!
But we like this beer, and we want more and more of it ... is this why we are not all monks? Perhaps.
And it is this same philosophy that they apply to the brewing of their own beer; the monks brew just enough to sustain their own activities.
