The brewer of this beer at the Bear Republic Brewing Company is a MAJOR hop head and we love him for it! Just when he thought he may have crossed the threshold for allowable hops in an IPA, he threw a bit more in there, just to keep us hop-lovers happy!

Racer 5 IPA is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two varieties of Pacific Northwest hops; Columbus and Cascade.

Columbus is a new hybrid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this bold brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. Bear Republic Brewing Company has truly created a specialty ale and Racer 5 makes a statement on this IPA beer style. ABV 7.0%, IBU 69.
